siphon coffee maker

Capacity: Enough for 3 to 4 cups

The siphon coffee process is said to be one of the best methods for brewing coffee. Although it requires more maintenance, the process is enjoyable, and the coffee produced is amazing. With typical cloth filters, all the oils pass through to the final cup, yet not a single grain of coffee is lost, resulting in a beautifully clean cup. There's no way to brew coffee quite like using a siphon—it's elegant and refined. Siphons tend to be more expensive, but they're worth the expense if you can afford it.

Also

Its mechanism of action, which is based on the extraction of water vapor pressure, is not only amazing, but it also combines two methods of making coffee at the same time, by brewing the coffee and filtering it as well, which gives us tremendous flavors, preserves the taste of the coffee , and extracts a cup of coffee with great purity and a distinct and balanced flavor.

Tools when preparing

23 grams of medium-ground coffee.

300 ml of water.

Siphon coffee maker.

Feltsiphon Hario.

Butane stove.

Steps

*Make sure to use a location free from any fire hazards, as the siphon requires an open flame to prepare coffee.

Start by heating the water in the kettle first, this will save you gas and take less time.

Weigh 23 grams of coffee and grind it to a medium grind.

Collect the filter and place it in the upper glass chamber, then pull the string and fasten the filter in place.

After boiling the water, pour 300ml of water into the lower glass chamber, then set the upper chamber in place and gently press down to create a seal between the two chambers.

Before operating the stove, wipe the lower glass chamber to ensure there is no water on the outside of the glass.

Turn the stove on until the water boils again. After a moment, the water will rise through the glass tube and settle in the upper chamber. A small amount of water will remain in the lower chamber. Then, lower the heat to avoid wasting butane, keeping the water in the upper chamber.

Put 23 grams of coffee and set the stopwatch for 1 minute.

Using a non-metallic spoon, stir the coffee a few times until the grounds are fully saturated. Most siphons now come with wooden stirrers that work great.

After one minute, turn off the stove and remove it from under the glass. Stir again to ensure the coffee is saturated with water.

Wait and watch the coffee fall into the lower chamber through the filter and glass tube, this should be finished at 1:45.

While you wait for your coffee to cool, wash the upper chamber and filter, then keep the filter in the refrigerator until you use it again.

Pour your coffee, enjoy.

Amendments

Feel free to put a cover on the upper chamber to keep the heat in longer.

Stirring can affect the taste of your coffee, so you can experiment with different stirring methods and see how it changes the flavors.

Common problems

If your coffee tastes bad, adjust the grind—you may have used too fine a coffee—or try reducing the steeping time.

Be careful when using a siphon, you don't want to burn yourself.
